Wen-Hu Chiung
Past Artist In Residence
2003

Wen-Hu Chiung installations concerned with ethics as relates to the industrial age. His creations spring from the liminal space between human and machine. “Sanguimotor” (2001) consists of a mass of red yarn arranged in a circle on white platform with square wooden frame. “Anamnesis” looks like a futuristic collection of yarn, encased in clear plastic. Venesection features a large pipe protruding from the wall; in imitation of a pasta-maker, strands of red yarn stream from pipe to floor.
