Miyuki Yokomizo

Yokomizo is a Japanese artist who was born in Tokyo. In 1994, she received a BFA from the Department of Sculpture at Tama Art University in Tokyo.

Yokomizo has exhibited nationally and internationally including the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and the Saitama Art Museum in 2000, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo in 2002, and the Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art in Chiba in 2003. She has also exhibited in the “D.U.M.B.O Art Under the Bridge Festival,” in Brooklyn, NY in 2002, the Camouflash/Disappear in ART at Unoactu in Dresden, Germany in 2008 and the Mediations Biennale, Mona Inner Spaces in Poznan, Poland in 2008.

Her works have been shown as public art and are included in the collections of several companies and institutions such as: the Kansai Medical University Hirakata Hospital (Osaka), SkyperfecTV! (Tokyo), the Palace Hotel (Tokyo), the Domain Mall (Hong Kong), the Ritz-Carlton Hotel (Kyoto), and Shimadzu Corporation (Kyoto). Her installation piece entitled “Please Wash Away” is currently part of the Japan Foundation’s collection which has been traveling worldwide since 2005 in the “Passage to the Future: Art from a New Generation” exhibition.

She currently lives and works in Kyoto.
