Marcos Ramírez ERRE

Marcos Ramírez ERRE is a multi-disciplinary artist from Tijuana whose practice explores notions of identity, the US-Mexico border, the relationship between humans and their environment through site specific installations. His work stresses the significance of historical memory and the preservation of human ideals. Between 2003 and 2010, ERRE founded and directed Estacion Tijuana, an alternative art space with a focus in Art, Architecture, urbanism and pop culture. In 2007, ERRE received a United States Artist fellowship. 

Since 1989, ERRE has become active in the field of visual arts and has participated in numerous residencies, delivered multiple lecture presentations, and exhibited various group and solo exhibitions internationally. This includes: the 6th and 7th Havana Biennial (1997,2000); the Whitney Biennial (2007); Sao Paolo/Valencia Biennial (2007) Moscow Biennial (2007); two survey exhibitions, one in the Carillo Gil Museum in Mexico City (2010), and recently at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (2019). Since 2009, ERRE is a fellow member of Mexico’s Nation System of Art Creators.
