Lynette Bester

Lynette Bester’s sculptural practice incorporates found objects to reexamine ordinary experiences and interactions. Bester is based in Cape Town, South Africa and is a full-time lecturer and Head of the Department of History and Theory at Ruth Prowse School of Art and has also lectured at the University of Cape Town and the College of Cape Town. Lately Bester has shown in Stalking the Familiar, Own Goal, and Conceptual Matters and Matters Conceptual. She recently exhibited at the Invisible Dog in Brooklyn as a finalist for the Celeste Prize International Art Competition. Bester has just received First Prize in the Hermanusfynart Festival curated by Marilyn Martin and Kirsty Cockerill.
