Lita Albuquerque
Local Artist in Residence
1629 18th Street #4, Santa Monica, CA 90404

Lita Albuquerque is an installation artist and professor in the graduate studies department at the Art Center College of Art and Design in Pasadena. She is one of the foremost female artists working in the Public Arena in California and has received many corporate commissions, grants, and awards, including the Cairo Biennale Prize in 1996 as the representative for the United States.

Lita will be a buddy for an international artist. She will serve as host and give general help around the city. Since Lita speaks French, she is especially interested in artists from France. Lita will also organize open studios for the LA International along with Suzan Woodruff.  Lita will give any kind of consultation to artists needing help with public project commissions and create a seminar if needed. Lita could also be a consultant on artist career counseling and how to find work in the art world. Whenever possible she will set up a link (perhaps an exchange) with international artist residents and Art Center.
