Cristallina Freschetti
Residency:
November 2023
Cristallina Fischetti is best known for abstract works which are a fusion of vibrant colors and gestural movements. Fischetti draws on her South American and Italian heritage to create paintings, murals, installations, and works on paper. Using a soak-staining method to apply paint to unprimed canvas, paper or linen laid out upon the floor, the resulting works resonate with the movement, energy and spontaneity used to create them.
Fischetti draws on her Shamanic birthright to conduct her life and work in accordance with the principles expressed in the philosophy of Paolo Coehlo and the psychology of Carl Jung. She studied at the University of Leeds 2006, London College of Fashion 2010, and Chelsea College of Arts 2019. She was represented by Grove Square Galleries, London (until Sept, 2022) Her work can be found in the collections of MONA, New York, the San Diego Institute, San Diego, and Yue Hu Museum, Shanghai. Fischetti has been awarded multiple grants, awards and commissions; these include a project for British Airways First Magazine, the coveted Visa for ‘Artist of Extraordinary Talent’ and B1 Visa by the U.S. Government.
Fischetti launched and founded the podcast HYPE A in May 2022 and continues to provide alternative healing under Abstract Medicine (since 2019) around the world. She continues to exhibit globally.
