California Lawyers for the Arts
Organization In Residence

California Lawyers for the Arts (C.L.A.) California Lawyers for the Arts (CLA) empowers the creative community by providing education, representation and dispute resolution. CLA serves over 11,000 artists and arts organizations annually through its Lawyer Referral Service, Arts Arbitration and Mediation Service, and through its educational programs, which include workshops, events, and e-Learning opportunities. CLA also works as an advocate for the arts in California. Recent advocacy efforts have focused on restoring state funding for the arts in California. In addition, CLA continues to play a major role in the California Arts Preservation Act, Resale Royalties Act, Arts and Environmental Initiative, and the Arts-in-Corrections program.
Further information about CLA’s Lawyer Referral Service, Arts Arbitration and Mediation Service, and a list of our upcoming workshops and seminars can be found on our website, linked below. Members of CLA receive discounts on all events, workshops, e-Learning offerings, and lawyer referrals.
CLA workshops are supported by the City of Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Division, the California Arts Council, the County of Los Angeles Dispute Resolution Program, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and the 18th Street Arts Complex.
