Want to be a part of the excitement of the LA Marathon, “Stadium to the Sea,” festivities but don’t want to actually run a whole 26.2 mile race? Well, 18th Street has the perfect solution for you!
Sunday, March 20, 9am -2pm: Join us at 18th Street Arts Center’s “CHEER ZONE” along the last leg of the Marathon on San Vicente Boulevard and 7th Street . With more than 17,300 participants, 5,000 volunteers, 500,000 spectators along the route, the Los Angeles Marathon is one of the largest and most entertaining organized road races in the country.
It will be a blast cheering on the thousands of runners, enjoying music from a live samba band and dancing with giant puppets created by Celebration Arts. Don’t miss out on this amazingly fun afternoon as we represent our arts center and cheer on 18th Street’s sponsored runners, Karl Doerrer-Attaway (artist in resident) and Raul Paulino Baltazar (past presenting artist) who will both be running in true artist style, with competitive themes: Karl as the Tortoise and Raul as the Hare!
