Picture a sudden burst of charmingly, colorful yarn and crochet installations sprinkled throughout the entire center, a marketplace of handmade, dazzling jewelry and clothing by a group of talented local artists in the 18th Street Parking lot, open artist-studios by local and international contemporary artists, provocative art installations; accompanied by an electrifying performance on 18th Street’s Outdoor Stage by Los Roor, a Tijuana based arts collective that charismatically blends noise, light, sound, music and video to create a dynamic show. But that’s not it! Highways Performance Space, is presenting its infamous Poetry Slam Battle, which features a hot lineup of politically impelled, fiercely lyrical, quick-witted Spoken Word Artists from all over Los Angeles. This is just a taste of what visitors can expect at this year’s Summer ArtNight on Saturday, June 18, 6-10 pm!

Los Roor Sessions by Los Roor

For the first time ever in Los Angeles, Los Roor brings their dynamic visual and sound art to 18th Street’s outdoor stage for ArtNight. Inspired by the sounds of outside noise, sound, dance floor and electronica music, blended with the visual sensation of massive video projections, Los Roor combines these forces to produce an almost climatic, energetic show that will surely captivate spectators. For this particular performance, Los Roor is inviting the audience to observe first-hand in their process of creating their show and experiment with their sound and visual equipment systems that impels their performance art.
Art Market Place organized by Ana Guajardo. Ana will bring in some of the finest local talent from the Los Angeles area.
