Love in a Cemetery
18th Street Arts Center kicks-off its 2010 season with Love in a Cemetery. Robert Sain, LACMAlab founding director, and LA based visual artist Andrea Bowers, were commissioned to organize this unique visual arts laboratory with young artists from the Otis MFA Public Practice program, involving projects reaching out into the greater Los Angeles community.
2010 Status Report: The Creative Economy
18th Street is pleased to announce the eight California artist winners of its theme-based residencies for it’s 2010 artist residency program. The awards include a three month residency in our galleries, grants between $2500 and $5000, and a public presentation of their work. The eight Fellows of the 2010 artist Residency-program include:Robert Sain, Andrea Bowers, Martin Durazo, Elena Siff, Dorit Cypis, Ana Guajardo, Carla Herrera-Prats and Matthias Merkel Hess.
